With the increasing interest in Agriculture, there is need to recognize weeds as crop pests that should be studied and controlled. This book has been prepared to meet the needs of Agriculturists, extension workers, animal scientists, agronomists, botanists and indeed everyone interested in farming or herbal medicine.
It features the medicinal uses of most of the plants referred to as weeds or in common parlance “useless plants”. A lot of research has been done on the medicinal uses of some listed plants and it is amazing that some of them could be used in treating diseases.
The author includes the local names of many of the plants in Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Efik for ease of identification.
About the Author
Oluwatoyin Balogun is an experienced teacher with over ten years of teaching experience at primary, post-primary and tertiary levels of education.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Extension and a Master of Science degree in Agronomy of the University of Ibadan.
She is a publisher and CEO of God’s Glory Top Publications with headquarters in Ibadan. She has authored many other educational books.
